Review of the Hyatt Place guest friendly hotel in Panama City
The Hyatt Place is a four star hotel located in the heart of Panama City, Panama. The large building is easy to find for everyone from tourists to taxi drivers. The mostly female check in staff is warm and friendly and able to communicate in both Spanish and English.
The Hyatt Place Panama City is not directly in the middle of the action so it is possible to enjoy a quiet sleep without interruption. At the same time, well known nightlife hot spots like Habano’s and the Veneto Hotel are only a short walk away.
The rooms at the Hyatt Place are sleek and modern. They are exceptionally clean and well maintained. They come with desks for working over the free high speed WiFi along with large beds, L shaped couches and large bathrooms with all the necessary amenities. Rooms also have safes, closets and ironing boards.
The Hyatt Place has all the amenities you would expect from a four star hotel. It also has a large elevator bank that ensures you never have to wait long to get back to your room even if you are staying on one of the higher levels. The life requires a room key so no uninvited guests can enter the upper floors of the hotel.
The Hyatt Palace is totally guest friendly. The staff and security are no stranger to customers bringing guests back to their room as guys enter with women in their arms throughout the night. When the desk staff sees a customer enter with a guest they may ask her to sign in and show her identification card though others enter and exit without issue.
The Hyatt Place in Panama City has some of the best rates of any comparable hotel in the area. That said, the prices quoted to people who just walk in off the street are always going to be higher than necessary. It makes more sense to book a room online before arrival to ensure the best possible rate.
I stayed at the Hyatt about a month ago. I was told if I had double occupancy, I was allowed to bring one guest per day to my room at no charge. The first evening I brought my girl to the front desk so they could make a photocopy of her ID. However, the girl at the front desk was rude, told me I had to pay a $15 fee and made me sign the copy of my girl’s ID. I’ve stayed at other hotels in Panama and have never had to sign copies of IDs.
I checked out the next day as I felt very uncomfortable at the hotel.
So, I would not call this hotel “girl friendly” due to the rudeness of the girl working the front desk.
Thanks for the report. It sounds like you ran into a tough staff member. Generally speaking I consider any hotel guest friendly if it allows customers to bring guests back to their rooms. There can be caveats like joiner fees and such. I have never heard of anyone checking IDs over at the Veneto Casino. Cheers.
I have stayed at Hyatt Place several times (most recently in early October) and never had an issue with bringing a girl back. Yes, they check her ID and make a copy of it FOR YOUR SAFETY. They do NOT charge a guest fee unless the guest stays all night and stays for the free breakfast. As soon as she leaves they note that and there will never be a charge to your room. Guys, As long as you aren’t making a scene or trying to bring multiple scantily clad women up to your room, you will be fine here. Keep it low key, as there are families who stay here, and we don’t want to force them to change their policy.
Thanks for the report. I agree with you entirely. Cheers!
Since my September stay, I have returned twice. Once at Halloween and once at Thanksgiving. Both times I did not have an issue with the front desk. They do make you sign a copy of your guest’s ID but I have gotten use to that and yes, it’s for mine and the hotel’s safety. So, I retract my earlier comment and recommend this hotel. Plus, the rates are good and so is the location.
Thanks for the update. Cheers!
I heard there now charging a $30 guest fee!
I haven’t heard that. Cheers.
i will be staying here in next few days, Hope they have not changed the guest friendly policy
I don’t believe they have. But be sure to update us. Cheers.
I was charged a $40 guest fee. They will charge this every time you bring a girl.
Thanks for the report. Cheers.
